Cut Billions in Wasteful Biomass Power Subsidies

The Issue

Billions of taxpayer dollars a year are being taken from the wallets of struggling Americans to line the pockets of corporate profiteers pushing a costly, polluting, and controversial energy source, poorly disguised as “clean” energy -- "biomass" power incineration. Cutting federal subsidies for biomass power incineration is the low-hanging fruit for the Super Committee: the easiest way to cut wasteful federal spending, relieve an unnecessary burden from taxpayers, gain bi-partisan support, protect public health, and address our clean energy future.
