The intersection of King's Highway and Seventh street has been identified as a danger to pedestrians, bicyclists, and automobiles due to poor sightlines from building edges, fast moving traffic, and wide streets. The community worked to turn this segment of roadway into a public plaza in 2012 and funds were approved and dedicated for this effort on two occasions. The street provides an opportunity for the community to program activities, while allowing small retail to engage the space, and to create a safer intersection for residents.
