Restore School Funding

SC uses an infamous phrase to describe the standard of education we will provide to children: "minimally adequate".

State law also includes a school funding formula. For next year, it works out to $2790 per child.

This year's funding was $778 per child BELOW that, even though we had a billion dollar surplus. A school with 700 students is missing over a half-million dollars.

There are several revenue scenarios for this year's budget.  None of them provides an excuse for shorting kids by 27% of what they are promised.

If we can afford to cut taxes in good times, we can afford to fund our schools properly at all times.

We need to restore the biggest education cuts in the US...24.1%.
