Why This Is Important

Mayor Ed Pawloski and City Council are attempting to takeover the downtown merchant/resident district of Hamilton Mall in Allentown, Pennsylvania by means of Eminent Domain. 

Eminent Domain is used by government to take land, when necessary, for the greater good of the area. But this is not true in this case. They merely want to uproot long time merchants,residents, and customers who have invested in Allentown to bring in a 80-100 million hockey arena. 

A hockey arena project here will destroy a thriving minority business district , and there are other more suitable locations available to consider. Ask the City Of Allentown to cease and disist any further action to take over the 700 block of Hamilton Street.

Please Repeal City Council's Vote To Use Eminent Domain To Takeover Hamilton Street for Hockey Arena

Greetings,

I was thrilled to see so many concerned citizens at a recent Town Hall meeting regarding a new minor league hockey arena, which would destroy 30 buildings in our downtown Hamilton Street District.

I'm writing to ask you to help repeal a recent vote by city council to use Eminent Domain to takeover longtime business's and residences.

This vote was prematurely made by greedy local officials and private interests that do not include the well being of the merchants,residents or customers who struggled to make this area a thriving business place. This unlawful vote was predatory and unfair.
