Why This Is Important

CHOP and other transplant centers cannot be allowed to play God. They cannot be allowed to turn away medical treatment from those they deem unworthy. They cannot be allowed to discriminate against those children and adults with developmental delay or intellectual impairment. This includes allowing a kidney transplant for Amelia and all the other individuals with cognitive disabilities in need of transplants.

I just signed the following petition addressed to: The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, UNOS and all USA transplant centers.

I believe CHOP and all transplant centers should allow lifesaving medical procedures for people with developmental delays. Cognitive ability or disability should not be a factor transplant teams consider for eligibility.

I believe this because transplant centers cannot be allowed to play God. They cannot be allowed to turn away medical treatment from those they deem unworthy. They cannot be allowed to discriminate against those children or adults with developmental delay or intellectual impairment.
