Transplant centers cannot be allowed to play God. They cannot be allowed to turn away medical treatment from those they deem unworthy. They cannot be allowed to discriminate against those children and adults with developmental delay or intellectual impairment. This includes allowing a kidney transplants for all the other individuals with cognitive disabilities in need of transplants.  We demand UNOS insist that transplant centers not include cognition and/or intellectual abilities in criteria for transplants.  We demand that the US government outlaw such discrimination and we demand that all transplant centers treat people with disabilities fairly and with respect as they move them towards the same life saving surgeries others are allows to have.
