In a last ditch effort to keep his tiger, Michael Sandlin has persuaded the Louisiana Legislature to create a bill specifically that will allow him to keep Tony the Tiger. It was create by Rick Ward, III, passed by both the LA Senate and House and now will be sent to the Governor for final passage. We are pleading with Governor Jindal to PLEASE VETO SB-250!

Michael Sandlin would have you believe his business will be ruined if he removes Tony. In fact it should not suffer at all as it is the only truck stop for many, many miles and people will continue to stop. His expense is changing his billboard that uses Tony as a lure.

A truck stop is no place for a wild tiger, it is cruel and inhumane to have him living for 14 years at a truck stop in a cage with no interaction with other tigers and no activities to break his boredom.

Sandlin has been cited numerous time for failure to maintain Tony's care in an acceptable manner yet the State of Louisiana continues to support his right to keep this animal. We maintain the only reason Sandlin wants Tony is as a road-side attraction to implore bored drivers to stop at his cheesy truck stop and see Tony and buy products.
