Save The Kangaroo's In Canberra !

In May 2009, the Department of Defense began to gun down 7,000 kangaroos on its vast Majura
military base in Canberra.
These animals came under attack when military officials said that they were destroying the land near the Majura and also that they were endangering threatened species living nearby. Officials said that there is an overpopulation of kangaroos, and that they are damaging the environment. Australian authorities said that the cull is conducted humanely by licensed and experienced professional contractors. About 4,000 had already been killed.

Last week, an Australian court has ordered a temporary halt to the killing of thousands of kangaroos. The court suspended the shooting permits until a three-member panel could hear conflicting scientific evidence next month.

These animals belong in that environment and there is no real evidence to prove that they are doing any harm to it. Kangaroos are Australia's national icon and loved worldwide. Kangaroos -like all animals- deserve to be protected from cruelty and unnecessary death.
This is a brutal and unsubstantiated slaughter, please send a mail and urge Australian authorities to stop the killing, immediately.

Dear sir/madam,
I was shocked to learn about the culling of kangaroos at Majura in Canberra.
The slaughter of kangaroos harms Australia's global image. Kangaroos are Australia's national icon and loved worldwide. Kangaroos -like all animals- deserve to be protected from cruelty and unnecessary death.
This slaughter is also putting the future of this unique species at risk. I respectfully ask the government to stop the killing. Kangaroos live in harmony with nature in Australia and should be protected for their intrinsic worth.
Yours Sincerely.
