When I traveled to Belize last summer, I went cave canoeing at Barton Creek and was displeased to see a spider monkey on a leash.  The poor thing also had no proper enclosure and no fellow monkeys to socialize with (monkeys are social creatures).  I encourage everyone who reads this to sign this letter to the Belize Tourism Board, asking them to intervene on the monkey's behalf.  Something must be done to ensure this poor creature's health and welfare.
