The Issue

Save our Pit Bulls of Lennon from discrimination

In the village of Lennon, like many other areas in our country, Pit Bulls have got the sudden title of dangerous hung about their head. These dogs have been sent to the pound and sent into pet adoption homes, and usually left there. In Lennon we have five Pit Bulls: Simon, Zurry, Kila, Kugo, and mine, Dasani. Within these animals’ lives, not one Lennon citizen has been harmed nor has their life threatened by them. Our families are being attacked now by accusations that all Pit Bulls are dangerous.

All around the United States people’s families are being torn apart by groups such as, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), AFV (Animal Friends of the Valley), and other Anti-Pit Bulls Groups. They take Pit Bulls from the streets and from our homes and send them away, whether they have attacked someone or are innocent.
Yes, some pit bulls have attacked, so has every other breed. It’s not the entire breed that’s at fault; the small portions of mistreated pit bulls are what cause this judgment.

Pit bulls are trained in dog fighting; they are beaten and abused… It’s the owner who is at fault, not the dog! Humans are the ones that make the dog aggressive, that’s how it’s in their blood; because for years humans had the idea of a disturbing entertainment. After being trained to fight in a cage they end up being very protective of their home, and themselves which leads to the attacks. This leads to our dogs being hated, and filling nearly 74% of the dog adoption homes and dog pounds.

Workers for the pounds and humane societies are directed to discourage the adoption of any Pit Bull. They also have to ask if there are any children under the age of 12 and/or if they have any other dog. If so, they can not adopt a Pit Bull. This discrimination needs to end, and quickly.

The Pit Bulls in Lennon are being shown this discrimination almost out of nowhere; they have never been anything but loving with humans and other animals. Their owners will not stand for this and let these groups destroy their families, nor be sent to an adoption home, where they will likely never see a good family again. Please help us and the dogs. We need you, and so do they.
