They are nutritionally vulnerable; scores of their children die due to malnutrition, their socioeconomic backwardness is like most of the existing Primitive Tribes and they have child mortality as high as 107 per thousand. Their language too is endangered listed among 196 Indian languages as per UNESCO. On all Human Development Index they deserve to be included in Primitive Tribe Category for greater food and nutrition accessibility and development.
