SAVE JROTC IN DUVAL COUNTY SCHOOLS! Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps has been a program in high schools since 1916 and in Duval County for over 30 years. Although based on military discipline, JROTC is in fact a life course. The program is designed to teach students necessary qualities that will make them strong, confident leaders in today's society. JROTC imparts key principles such as loyalty, respect, and selfless service which teaches cadets the importance of doing not only forthemselves, but for others. Also, JROTC is responsible for sending many of today and tomorrows soldiers to the United States Armed Forces. This program shapes students into better people, touching the lives of the students in it as well as any person the cadet may come in contact with for the rest of their lives. JROTC is a program that changes lives, andto take said program from our schools would be a travesty and a mistake.
