Gov. Christie has proposed yet another bill , which, if passed will destroy collective bargaining rights for all of New Jersey's public employees. Current firefighters, police officers, and teachers are being forced to take salary cuts in way of increased pension contributions (6 1/2% of their salary), and thousands more per annum to their health care, greatly diminishing worker's yearly incomes. Families will lose up to tens of thousands of dollars each year. This will destroy public education, and police and fire departments within our states.  Health benefits are a subject for collective bargaining, not for the State Senate. The bill diminishes the power of unions everywhere by effectively negating collective bargaining, stripping state employees of essential rights. Gov. Christie is once again overstepping his authoriyt, and attempting to balance the buget on the backs of middle class families. This agregous bill punishes state employees because the state has neglected their pensions.  Unopposed, this bill will go into effect July 1.  Please, tell your senators that you stand behind state employees and their families.
