Mullaperiyar dam is an 116 year old dam located in central Kerala, India. The dam is on highly seismic zone prone to continuous earthquakes. If the dam collapses, it will wash away 5 million people living downstream in minutes time, resulting in worlds worst dam disaster. The issue is not in the purview of the mainstream national and international media. Being a resident of the downstream, I request my brothers and sisters to join us in our efforts to rebuild the Mullaperiyar dam, which is currently being underestimated as a mere watersharing issue between 2 states.
