By defining and distinguishing marijuana from other parts of the cannabis plant, legalizing small amounts of marijuana-related products for adults over the age of 21 in the Canadian Province of Saskatchewan will end prohibition of Marijuana and the violence caused by the illegal drug trade. By taxing the sale of marijuana we can designate the revenue to healthcare and substance-abuse prevention and education. Possession by anyone younger than 21, possession of larger amounts (over 30g), and the growing of unlicensed or unregulated marijuana will remain illegal under Canadian Federal law to ensure product safety for customers and to maintain a sustainable level of integrity and accountability for the future of the Canadian Cannabis Industry.
