I personally endorse Measure P the "Healthy Air and Water Initiative to Ban Fracking" in Santa Barbara County -- and I invite everyone else to do so as well!

Santa Barbara County is under threat of a massive increase in oil production made possibe through dangerous and polluting "enhanced" extraction techniques like fracking, acidizing and steam injection.

Oil companies have identified thousands of potential drill locations in our region.  If we let them proceed, it could pollute our water and air, damage our environment, cause blight, noise and traffic, put our economy based on tourism, wine, tech and agriculture at risk, damage property values, use water supplies we need to preserve during a record drought, trigger earthquakes (less than 30 miles from a nuclear power plant!) and cause a staggering increase in county emissions -- at a time when we should be reducing emissions and transitioning to clean sources of energy.

Luckily, we have an opportunity to reject this risky oil development.
