I aim do all I can to get the ban on same-sex marriage lifted in Oklahoma. This is a ban that should have never been put into effect in the first place.

There are an estimated 187,567 gays, lesbians, and bisexuals out of total population of 3,751,351 in Oklahoma, based on what I heard was the gay-to-straight ration of 5%. The ban on same-sex marriage says that the majority of the other 3,563,784 think gays, lesbians, and bisexuals do not have the right to be happy. The truth of the matter is it is just a small group of homophobes and overzealous religious fanatics who made the decision to ban same-sex marriage. Yes the churches should have a say in whether there ministers perform such ceremonies, however what ever happened to the separation of church and state? Let's join together Oklahoma to stop the churches from running the government.  The people should make the laws, not the churches.
