SAM ARORA GOT MARRIED // SIGN A WEDDING CARD FOR THE BACKSTABBER
1. SIGN - 2. SHARE - 3. DONATE - 4. WIN
Maryland lawmaker Sam Arora backstabbed constituents this year when he broke a campaign promise and voted against marriage equality legislation. The vote was very close, and Sam (a purported Democrat) nearly ruined years of effort by civil rights advocates.
No thanks to Sam Arora, Maryland became the 8th state to approve marriage equality this year. But already, anti-civil rights activists have announced that they gathered enough signatures to subject the new law to a repeal vote in November. We are confident that with enough support, we can make Maryland the first state in the nation to earn a majority of voters' support for marriage equality.
Today, Sam Arora is getting married, and ironically, his interracial marriage would've been illegal in 1967. His wedding is also taking place in Washington, DC during the annual Pride Parade. Let's congratulate Sam Arora on his marriage and re-double our efforts to make sure Maryland voters uphold marriage equality at the ballot this November.
Please sign this wedding card for Sam Arora, and we'll deliver a congratulations card to his office with your name on it. If you feel like getting him a wedding "gift," you can make a contribution in his "honor" to Marylanders for Marriage Equality, the main group defending marriage equality at the ballot in November.
