Three Cedars Farm in Northville, MI is known locally for pumpkin picking, donuts, hay rides and an awesome Christmas. The whole experience has been a family tradition for thousands and the locally owned farm works closely with local charities, their Christmas tradition being one of them. And now they are on the closing down for the holidays because of a zoning squabble with Salem Township. 

 

Three Cedars has been doing Christmas and other charity events for 9 years and were just recently informed there about a zoning issue that is causing them to stop operating by the local Salem Township Board. The owners of the farm believe they are protected under the RTFA and the local township believes otherwise. The timing of this zoning change came when they opened their doors this year. The farm is shut down 8 months out of the year, yet they were served on their opening event this year, in which Salem Board members attend and promote!

 

Instead of the Salem Board working with the farm during their off season, they are forcing the farm to cease all commercial sales. This issue has escalated and the farm was forced to hire a lawyer to protect their rights. This has essentially pushed the farm to close until further notice as fighting the township has become their focus. 

 

The Salem Township website claims that "The primary responsibility of our offices is to provide customer service to the residents of Salem Township." Please hold Salem Township to their word and help Three Cedars Farm bring their Christmas tradition back by signing this petition!!!
