CALLING ALL SAGINAW COUNTY (MI) RESIDENTS ONLY!!   WE NEED YOUR SIGNATURES!  We believe all dogs at Saginaw County Animal Control, regardless of breed, deserve the chance to be adopted by the public, transferred to a different shelter, or pulled by a rescue group. Killing a dog based on appearance alone is wrong and such a discriminatory practice needs to end. In one year alone (2010), 3,732 dogs were euthanized and according to the director of Saginaw Animal Control, "well over half" of these dogs were pit bull type dogs. This is unacceptable. Please be a voice for all of the innocent pit bulls and pit bull mixes sentenced to death because of Saginaw County Animal Control's discriminatory policy. If you are a Saginaw County resident, please sign this petition and pass it on to other Saginaw County residents.

For the purpose of this particular petition, ONLY Saginaw County residents sign please. Thank you for your support!

To Whom It May Concern:

Please put an end to the unfair breed specific policies at Saginaw County Animal Control.

I believe all dogs at Saginaw County Animal Control, regardless of breed, deserve the chance to be adopted by the public, transferred to a different shelter, or pulled by a rescue group. Euthanizing a dog based on appearance alone is wrong and such a discriminatory practice needs to end. In one year alone (2010), 3,732 dogs were euthanized and according to the director of Saginaw Animal Control, "well over half" of these dogs were pit bull type dogs. This is unacceptable.

Condemning a dog to death solely based on its appearance is wrong. Discrimination of any kind should never be acceptable and it should never be tolerated. Every dog deserves a fair chance and every dog, no matter the breed, should be considered for adoption on a case-by-case basis.

Please put an end to the discriminatory breed specific policies at Saginaw County Animal Control.
