Every day kids are born with allergies, some are life threatening and some are not. Either way, schools need to protect the kids in their care. And when they are not protected, parents need to know. We need to stand up for each other. No one wants to see a child get sick or even die; however, it happens every day. Children are rushed to the emergency room due to reactions from food. You would think it was a simple thing fix, but when your school tells you that they won't ban a life threatening allergen, something needs to be done. Today I'm asking people to sign this petition to ask the school board of RSU 52 (Turner Maine) to ban nuts in the school system. There have already been cases in our school system of children having serious reactions to nuts. Our schools have failed to protect our kids. If we, as parents, do not stand up for a change, no one will. Every day school across this country schools are taking a "Nut-Free" stance. I ask why not us? So help me take a stand and let the school administrators know that we will no longer stand around and be quiet when we know something grievous could happen.
