Home, in the opinion of most, is someplace one feels safe. Home can be at your cubicle, in a house full of loud family members, or in the arms of the person you love. Due to the large amount of hatred this world is slapping the homosexual community with; it can be difficult to find that safe place. For some, their home towns may not feel like home, for around every corner someone is saying obscene things both directly and indirectly. Everyone has a right to their opinions, but it's when those opinions hurt another person in any way, shape or form, that an issue arises.  

Schools, especially universities where you are PAYING to be part of that community, should be welcoming and comforting to all of its students. The idea of housing a food company that openly supports bigotry sends the message that the school is not a safe place, that it is not a home.

Chick Fil-A has been linked to various anti-gay organizations such as the Pennsylvania Institute, Focus on the Family, and National Organization for Marriage. With every dollar spent at a Chick Fil-A restaurant, you are paying for anti- gay campaigns and organizations to continue their march towards inequality. You are funding continuous hatred and intolerance. You are giving means to chauvinistic idealists who are hurting your friends, your brothers, your sisters. There are various fast food restaurants that do not support prejudices, so why not put your money towards equality or just plain tolerance of others? Please sign the petition to remove Chick Fil-A from the University of Arizona’s Student Union.
