Stop Rick Santorum's run for President

The Issue

It is the obligation of every true and patriotic American, or indeed any person who is a true believer in freedom and liberty, to work to shape their government so as to protect and further those great rights. But more so is it our duty to stand against those who would seek to undermine and destroy liberty and freedom.

Rick Santorum has made it clear beyond any doubt that not only does he not support the fundamental principles that guided the founding of America, but that he stands directly opposed to them.

He has publicly stated that he disagrees with the separation of church and state (expect when it would protect a church from being made to go against it's religious views by the government). He has said that God (meaning his version of the Christian god) should be the center of any government decision. He has shown support for ending the medicare and medicaid system, with no real talk about how he would replace them.

Here are just a few quotes from his campaign:

“They are taking faith and crushing it. Why? Why? When you marginalize faith in America, when you remove the pillar of God-given rights, then what’s left is the French Revolution. What’s left is the government that gives you right, what’s left are no unalienable rights, what’s left is a government that will tell you who you are, what you’ll do and when you’ll do it. What’s left in France became the guillotine. Ladies and gentlemen, we’re a long way from that, but if we do and follow the path of President Obama and his overt hostility to faith in America, then we are headed down that road.”

“If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual [gay] sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything. Does that undermine the fabric of our society? I would argue yes, it does. It all comes from, I would argue, this right to privacy that doesn’t exist in my opinion in the United States Constitution. In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality. That’s not to pick on homosexuality. It’s not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be. It is one thing.”

“There are people who were gay and lived the gay lifestyle and aren’t anymore. I don’t know if that’s the similar situation or that’s the case for anyone that’s black. It’s a behavioral issue as opposed to a color of the skin issue, and that’s the diff for serving in the military.”

“There are no Palestinians. All the people who live in the West Bank are Israelis. There are no Palestinians. This is Israeli land.”

“One of the things I will talk about, that no president has talked about before, is I think the dangers of contraception in this country. It’s not okay. It’s a license to do things in a sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be."

“This [Gay Rights] is an issue just like 9-11. We didn’t decide we wanted to fight the war on terrorism because we wanted to. It was brought to us. And if not now, when? When the supreme courts in all the other states have succumbed to the Massachusetts version of the law?”

“The idea is that the state doesn’t have rights to limit individuals’ wants and passions. I disagree with that. I think we absolutely have rights because there are consequences to letting people live out whatever wants or passions they desire.”

“The idea that the Crusades and the fight of Christendom against Islam is somehow an aggression on our part is absolutely anti-historical.”

He has expressed contempt for minority religions seeking equal protections, for support of religious freedom (unless it's his religion), gay rights, women's health and environmental protection, going so far as to call concern for the environment extremist and fanatical.

We can not allow someone who would so easily disregard our rights and freedoms to gain the highest political office in America.
