Represent the Interests of Alabama Consumers Before the PSC

The Issue

The Alabama Public Service Commission (PSC) has not held a publicly contested, formal investigative hearing on the rates Alabama Power charges its customers for electricity in 30 years. As a result, Alabama Power’s monopoly has gone unchecked. The lack of oversight has led to Alabama Power customers paying some of the highest bills in the nation while allowing the company to earn some of the highest profits.

We call on Attorney General Luther Strange and Assistant Attorney General Olivia Martin to vigorously represent the best interests of Alabama consumers before the Public Service Commission.

The health and economic wellbeing of Alabama’s residents depends on affordable electricity. It is the PSC’s duty to provide fair and open processes by which consumers can be assured they are protected from unreasonable prices.
