Repeal the $180,000 Grant Awarded to Promote Pesticides

Repeal the $180,000 Grant Awarded to Promote Pesticides

The Issue

The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) recently issued the Alliance for Food and Farming, an industry front group made up of large-scale farm and pesticide interests, a $180,000 grant of the USDA's money to "correct the misconception that some fresh produce items contain excessive amounts of pesticide residues."

Though the U.S. government rarely funds studies that determine the true extent of health problems related to pesticides, independent researchers have found that the chemicals can lead to neurological damage, increased rates of cancer, and many other health problems.

There is no misconception here: pesticides are toxic to all animals, including humans, and they have no place in our food. Sign our petition asking the CDFA to repeal the grant awarded to the Alliance for Food and Farming.
