Renewing the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act in 2008 was a mistake.  The health of the world depends on the freedom of people to communicate across borders.  NSA continues to collect American telephone calls and e-mail messages; perhaps by the millions.  Congress and the White House should collaborate on repealing FISA and should commission a high level review to determine how much domestic intelligence gathering is needed and how it can be undertaken without violating our rights.
