Repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) Now

The Issue

Every day, the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) denies real protections to tens of thousands of Americans in legally recognized same-sex marriages including Social Security survivors' benefits, equal treatment under U.S. immigration laws, the right to take leave to care for a spouse, and more.

President Obama has decided that his administration will no longer defend DOMA in court. But Republican leaders have stepped in with a plan to waste precious time and resources defending the hateful law in court.
