Remembrance and Justice for the 1992 Khojaly Massacre
The Issue
On February 26, 2010, Azeri-Americans will commemorate the 18th anniversary of the massacre committed by Armenian forces during the occupation of Azeri town of Khojaly, in the course of 1991-1994 Nagorno-Karabakh war. According to Human Rights Watch, 613 civilians, including 106 women and 83 children, were massacred by the occupying forces to varying degrees of brutality. The perpetrators of this crime preceding Srebrenica massacre were never investigated or brought to justice.
Friends of Azerbaijan join Azerbaijani-American Council to request an official remembrance of the 18th anniversary of Khojaly Massacre and to ask for support in bringing about the long-awaited justice to the victims and the perpetrators of this tragedy.
