Reinstate Lee Samaha's Teaching position at MonDon!

The Issue

Lee Samaha has been a beloved religion teacher at Monsignor Donovan High School in Toms River since 2005. On Friday, February 10, 2012, he was unjustly fired by Father John Bambrick for simply stating his opinion on recent health care laws while using the "reply all" feature on an email that had been sent to him by Father McPartland. This unjust firing has left a huge hole in the minds and hearts of all students who have benefited from Mr. Samaha's intellect, spirit and love.

Father Bambrick has been causing an improper and unjust uproar at the school ever since his arrival in 2009. His administrative decisions and business practices have been questioned by students, parents, and alumni, and has led to nothing but turmoil in the school and church communities.

We respectfully petition the Diocese of Trenton to immediately reinstate Lee Samaha in his teaching capacity and for Father Bambrick to leave the school (as he has requested). These two moves will prevent any further hostilities in what is supposed to be a peaceful, tolerant, Catholic environment.

Disclaimer: This petition has been created and circulated by individuals (students, parents, community members) who love and/or appreciate Mr. Samaha. He has not been consulted about this petition nor has he participated in its content. Current students at Monsignor Donovan may hesitate to sign this petition for fear of reprisal, but we sincerely hope that all who read this will feel moved to join our efforts to support a treasured member of our school community.
