The Jahangir Chowk Rambagh Bridge Flyover (JCRB Flyover) project as proposed is a  two and half kilometer long overhead concrete bridge to be constructed within the existing Srinager Airport Road from Jahangir Chowk to Natipora (near the Flood Channel Bridge at Rambagh).  The project’s objective is to address the severe traffic congestion along the Airport route from Jahangir Chowk to Rambagh. 

Smooth traffic flow is essential to the economic well being of Srinager.  However, as proposed the project will not solve the traffic congestion problem.  In addition, the Flyover will cause severe negative environmental affects that are not being mitigated.  The stated objective of the JCRB project: to relieve traffic congestion along the Airport route in Srinagar,  can be achieved by alternatives that will be cheaper to build, can be completed in a shorter time and will have a positive effect on the environment.
