---------------------- Our Petition ----------------------
The Waratahs have lost their way and in 2012 we, the fans and supporters of the organisation, implore the Board to start immediate, sweeping, positive actions to rebuild the team, coaching panel and playing culture from the ground up for future years. The time for conservative, risk averse decisions is gone. Now is the time for radical change before the club becomes a shade of its former self, both financially and in reputation.
Its evident from recent seasons that Waratah coaching tactics, team skill levels in basic areas, playing style and even at times team fitness levels relative to other top sides has reached an unacceptable level. Evidence of a broken culture is in the organisation's track record of stacking the line-up with individual stars but consistently failing to produce the result expected of a champion team. We, the supporters have had enough of unattractive, conservative, predictable rugby as the game has clearly evolved and we believe the Waratahs have been left behind.
We, the supporters of this petition will stand behind and fervently support a new Waratahs team and organisation, created with an attacking rugby philosophy and the highest standard in skills as core ideals, staffed with dynamic coaches who are looking to lead the evolution of the game and who have a track record of achieving this. This will lay the foundations for a future Waratah championship win. We will support the organisation through potentially tough times on the field provided we are shown the evidence that this process of rebuilding has commenced and is being given top priority by the Board. To be credible change this will also need fresh faces in the Boardroom as well.
Until we, the fans see hard evidence of positive change, you should expect to see continual falls in ticket sales and smaller crowds at home games. Remember what happened to the Reds financially in 2009 as this is where you are heading right now.
We are looking to the Boards of the NSWRU and NSW Waratahs Ltd to stand up, have courage to change things and show fans the way...
