It's a landmark in Waikiki. A place tourists will somewhat feel relaxed and at a tropical tourist area. With all the mass amount of concrete retail complexes around Waikiki already, surely the destruction of an iconic landmark such as the Marketplace should stay put. Keep the image Hawaii in Hawaii, in Waikiki. Retail store establishments are common nationwide. Give the tourists something different to enjoy their stay here better. It also means a whole lot to the locals who have many good memories of this place. One of the few places locals used to frequent when they did go to Waikiki for recreation or leisure.
