Provide with 2.5 acres for Village Community Garden & instuction in food preservation

The Issue

I live in a mid-size village in up-State NY (equal distance between Montreal & NYC.) Even though I am inside the village, I own just over 6 acres of land, 2.5 acres of which can and has been used for gardening, although on a much smaller scale.
Although we have farmer's markets, many villagers have expressed a desire to go back to a "Community Garden" model, but lacked the available space; I will gladly open up the land to anyone wanting to participate.
I have been canning and putting up food since my Grandmother taught me (I spent summers on their farm.) I have a number of my neighbours how to make and can jelly, I would welcome the opportunity to teach anyone willing to learn what to do with the food left over from the harvest.
I have been petitioning the village board for 5-years to allow me to raise chickens (inside the village limit you cannot have 'farm' animals.) In time, we could potentially have a community egg co-op. Down the road, who knows?  Plough horses to reduce carbon emissions when we have to plough. There is a 19th Century museum across the street from me, and my house had be a green house when it was an Inn. They may be able to work with village officials if they can incorporate what we are doing, to what the original use of this land.

Marte McCallaPetition StarterThanks to a what must have been an interesting mix of coincidence and tryst I am Lakota and Irish. While most times you will encounter a spiritual, somewhat ethereal being, I can be extremely passionate in my beliefs, therefore, I encourage all to practice ducking reflexes prior to meeting. (I, like the gentleman at the press conference in Iraq have been know to throw a shoe or two in my day.) I have a rather fierce sense of ethics, and little time and even less tollerance for duplicity...I will take my politics straight-up, thank you very much. I may not agree, but I will respect the honesty (even if I disagree!) That works both ways (question the functionality of my brain cells all you want, but do not doubt my sincerity.)
