Provide fair and equitable health care for all Ohioans

Provide fair and equitable health care for all Ohioans

The Issue

It is undeniable that health care is a fundamental human need.  That need is not being met in this country.  Corporations are moving their work out of the country.  Public Sector workers are under attack in part because they have health insurance.

1.5 Million Ohioans are without health insurance, that is 13% of Ohio's population.  The PPACA (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act) when fully implemented six years from now will leave half of these uninsured with out access to health care.  A recent study by SPAN Ohio concludes that by changing to a single-payer system, such as the one in the Ohio Senate SB112, would save Ohio schools $1.5 Billion per year.

We can make a change in Ohio, by simply changing our constitution, so that elected public officials of the state or its subdivisions can not have our tax dollars spent on their healthcare if they continue to fail to provide for all of people.
