This scam has caused $700 Billion dollars in negative equity to those who have kept thier homes! This is a travesty of epic proportions that NO ONE responsible for should be allowed to get away with. The heads of all five banks, the lawyers involved should ALL get long federal prison sentences for what they did including those from Countrywide, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac who have significant ties with government officials in Washington. Anyone involved with Lender Processing Services, DocX Inc, LOGS Network, MERS and any associated digital recording firm who have destroyed original loan documents filed after 2005 should be prosecuted to the fullest also.
