Prevent Another Sandy Hook...Stop Propaganda In The Mass Media!
Prevent Another Sandy Hook...Stop Propaganda In The Mass Media!
The Issue
Flip to any 24 hour news network and within minutes you'll soon realize how sensationalism and negative reporting has become the standard within mass media. According to the FBI, violent crime is the lowest it's been in nearly 4 decades.
This petiton is to demand the media to stop using propaganda to create fear and panic in the American people simply to gain viewership, drive ratings and increase advertising dollars.

“Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habit. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.”
We need to ask ourselves…
What are the thoughts the media is putting into our minds?
What are the words that we utter to ourselves and others based on those thoughts?
What are the actions created by those words?
What are the habits created from those actions?
What characterizes our collective actions?
What does our character say about our collective destiny?
Despite the fact that we haven't been safer since the late 60's (see article below); Nancy Lanza, the mother of the Sandy Hook shooter died looking down the barrel of her own gun. As a doomsday “prepper” who thought she was getting ready for upcoming economic collapse; it's no doubt that she was highly influenced by the media's coverage on the subject.
The same guns that she was stockpiling were turned on six teachers and 20 elementary school students before her son used it on himself. One can't help but to wonder how the media's propaganda factored into the events that happened on December 14, 2012 and instead of creating a situation where gun safety was the primary focus, reports of tighter gun laws resulted in record gun sales over the following days.
It’s just a matter of time before history repeats itself. If you care about your future and the future of our children, please sign this petition to keep fear mongering and propaganda out of the mass media.
