Dear Mrs. Alejandra Barrales,

I am writing you to express my support of the law initiative that bans bullfighting in Mexico City. This unethical practice should be outlawed in your country as soon as possible. Neither national culture, heritage or sport are excuses for the promotion of torture and death, especially in a country that now suffers from growing violence--and bullfighting is an active endorsement of just such senseless violence. National statistics show that an overwhelming 88% of Mexican citizens want this sport to be banned and funding --private or public-- to be used for more pressing issues in Mexico City. If you ban bullfighting you will be joining progressive provinces like Catalonia who have already banned this awful practice. Mexico's image in the world will grow as a country that stands for positive values like peace, respect and kindness. Also I am confident that this action will have a positive effect on industries like tourism, education and business for your beautiful city and your country in general. For al these reasons I am begging you to support the ban by voting yes on the passage of this law that will put an end to this grotesque spectacle. Next week , when you meet to vote on this law, the whole world will be watching.
