Many thousands of children have been, and continue to be, sexually abused in religious organizations. Local political leaders and prosecutors have been, and continue to be, unable and/or unwilling to curtail this. President Obama must step up and establish a national investigation commission as Australia's Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, just did effectively and decisively. Otherwise the horrors of 200 deaf boys being sexually abused allegedly by a single priest will occur again, as shown in the award winning HBO documentary, Mea Maxima Culpa. As President Obama recently said, protecting defenseless children is the first duty of government.
