President Obama Challenged to Stop Global Warming‏

I’m hanging from Mount Rushmore, writing to you from my cell phone! If you tune in right now you can see live streaming video of me and the other Greenpeace climbers, and see the banner we just hung.

So why are we up here? We’re challenging President Obama to stop global warming with the message, “America honors leaders, not politicians. Stop global warming.” The challenge comes as the president meets other world leaders in Italy today to discuss the global warming crisis in the lead-up to UN climate treaty talks in Copenhagen this December.

But don’t leave us hanging here! You can help support our efforts by taking action now!

Please, tell President Obama to be a world leader on global warming.

Global warming is the biggest threat our nation and our planet have ever faced. We’re already experiencing some of its harmful effects, according to a recent climate report from the White House. And it’s only going to get worse. We need bold, immediate action from President Obama to stop it.

I feel so strongly about stopping global warming that I’ve put myself at risk up here to send a strong message to the President. Let the President know how YOU feel too!

From the top of Mount Rushmore,

Jessica Miller
Greenpeace Activist

P.S. Follow all of today’s action LIVE!
