Stop the unnecessary animal shootings by police officers
Stop the unnecessary animal shootings by police officers
The Issue
The careless shooting done by police officers tear families apart and hurt innocent animals every year. Police officers think that they have special privileges due to being a police officer. My Friend Allie Jones is a victim of a shooting when her German Shepherd Baxter was shot for no reason.
Her story:
"I am asking for your support. A neighbor of mine called the community security guard because my Australian Shepherd Baxter was in the front yard. The security guard then called the police and the City of Pembroke Pines showed up at my house. When the police arrived, the front door was open and my dog was sitting in his favorite chair in the living room. The police had shown a light in my brother’s room demanding him to come outside. My brother had rushed downstairs while my dog was still in the living room. In the excitement, my dog ran outside and my brother followed him. The police officer yelled at my brother “get your dog before I shoot him.” He gave my brother not even a second and then fired multiple shots in my dog’s chest. When my sister ran outside hysterically crying, she asked the officer why he shot our dog. He told her to get back inside, close the door, and get our other dog, Coco, before he attacks us. My brother is a witness that our dog never attacked the officer. The very officers we hope would protect us showed up to our house and shot our dog, several times! He was rushed to the hospital and we are hoping that our baby boy will survive. We are asking for your prayers, and if you love animals like we do, please spread the word and help us seek justice. The most reasonable solution to this whole tragedy would have been for the officer to have closed the door. Instead, he fired several shots right in front of my brother. Baxter may bark, but he is harmless. For all of you who have been to my house to be tutored by my dad, please post something. Our hearts are broken tonight."
Allie loves animals and is a vegetarian for many years now; she gives her heart to animals. Please help make a change in the injustice.
