Dear Mr. Ambassador:

I am concerned about the recent reports of hundreds of thousands of stray cats being trapped and killed in Beijing. Reports also allege that the government is spreading incorrect information, claiming there is a high incidence of disease among cats, which is resulting in families abandoning their pets in the streets and leading to more animal deaths.

I would like to request your help in conducting a full investigation to determine the truth. All eyes are on Beijing as the Summer Olympics approaches. Please take the time to investigate these claims.

If the claims are found to be true, please talk to Alley Cat Allies about more effective, publicly supported, and economical ways to address outdoor cat populations that have been embraced by cities worldwide. These groups have the expertise to be able to address questions about cats and public health concerns.
