Sweden has given permission to shoot 110 lynx.

1st March 2011 started the hunt of Lynx in Sweden.  About 100 lynx were killed some of them wounded before the hunters ended their lives.

The hunt will soon start again.

The reason for the hunt is protection of domestic animals and reindeer. Sami has accused the lynx to kill their reindeer. The facts is the lynx is a very shy animal and hunt rabbits and other small animals.

Despite the fact that lynx roam over an extremely wide territory, there are relatively few people in Sweden who have ever seen one in the wild.

Please help to stop killings of  the only indigenous wildcat in Scandinavia.

Thank you

Please stop hunting of Lynx in Sweden

Dear Sirs

Dear Sir

It is with great sadness I learn that Sweden has killed about 100 lynx in 2011. Some of them wounded before the hunters ended their lives.

The reason should be the protection of domestic animals and reindeer.

The facts are the lynx is a very shy animal who live of rabbits and other small animals.

It is shameful that one of the richest countries in the world with a small number of inhabitants cannot accommodate its native and magnificent predators.

It is contrary to International and EU Species Protection Law and the Return of Lynx, Wolf and Bear to Western Europe

I ask you earnestly to stop this senseless hunting of an endangered animals. Both wolves and lynx are important parts of our eco-system and there are very few left in the North.

The hunting of both the wolves and the lynx can have a major impact on Sweden’s tourism as animal friends from all over the world will boycott a country that eliminates protected animals purely because of lust and money.

In hope of understanding of the importance of preserving our predators, I thank you for taking the time to read this letter.

Sincerely,

[Your name]
