Tuesday night Ardmore Oklahoma residents watched in horror as Antonio Ray dragged a pitbull behind his bicycle through the city streets.  Numerous people called police and one couple even captured a picture on their cellphone.  He was dragging the dog, said John Rhodes, who witnessed the event. Its arms were behind it.  Its chest was on the ground and there were streaks of blood. Rhodes measured the blood trail in his truck, it was at least a quarter of a mile long.  Antonio Ray was arrested and charged with animal cruelty.  The dog was taken to Ardmore Animal Shelter with injuries to its side, head and paws, but died before any treatment could be given. 

Antonnio Ray is in court for 1st hearing this morning. The maximum penalty is 5yrs in prison and/or a fine. Please urge them to go for the  maximum sentence.  His next hearing is on March 31, 2009.  He is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.

I understand that the date is past on this action but I feel it is important for us to continue to send letters for that future offenders don't get off easy. I feel that the more they hear from the people the less they can ignore us.
