As of January 24, 2011, the Pinewood Bus Route will no longer service the Education Centre. Rather than going up College Drive to the Education Centre the bus will be servicing the new North Bay Regional Hospital. For those on the bus wishing to get up to the University and College they must transfer at the lower residences. 

This change does not only affect those living in the Pinewood area. As a result of this change, there will be two less buses servicing the Education Centre as Pinewood on the way up the hill, and two less servicing the school as Graniteville on the way down. With over 3700 students attending Nipissing University and 3000 Canadore College students, along with the numerous faculty members for both educational facilities, it is safe to say that a large population of North Bay's bus riders need the transportation to and from the school. 

With the number of students who already find it challenging to get on a bus from residence to the school, transferring off the Pinewood at residence is only going to add to the number of students who get "left behind". The same issue can be said for getting down the hill. 

The Pinewood bus situation has become quite the talk around the school environment, and has created stressful situations to say the least. We are writing to ask that you reconsider the route change and take into consideration the needs of North Bay's greater population,
