On March 14th, Mayor Nutter announced a ban on "public feedings" in an effort to get the homeless to eat at indoor facilities; citing health concerns, dignity, and parkway appropriateness. 

Hundreds choose to eat at shelters in the city, while many share meals with volunteers in safe city parks.  Some of the poor simply will not go to indoor facilities.

We do not feel that starving the homeless and hungry off of the Ben Franklin Parkway and into indoor facilities  is the solution, much less dignified.   

And "feedings" are for farms, these meals are for people.
