Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has dispatched more units of Iraqi Army to Camp Ashraf to create a humanitarian catastrophe. At least 140 vehicles carrying suppressive Iraqi forces along with a number of ambulances and five fire-engines have arrived in Ashraf between 17:00 to midnight (local time) on Thursday.

Simultaneously, on the orders of al-Maliki, the American forces that had been dispatched on April 3 to Camp Ashraf to monitor the situation, have been forced to leave the camp.

Lieutenant General Ali Gheidan, commander of Iraqi infantry army, who is directly commanding the criminal attack of forces under al-Maliki’s command, at 7:30 local time ordered shooting at unarmed and defenseless women and men gathered in Laleh Square of Ashraf.

Until 12 Noon today the number of martyrs at Ashraf has reached 31.  They died due to the murderous attack by al-Maliki forces this morning.  Three of the martyrs are among injured captives who were taken hostage at early hours of the attack.  They died due to lack of medical care.

A large part of 300 injured are facing critical condition and if they are not taken to American forces’ hospital, they will soon die.

On the other hand, Iraqi forces, in order to hide the scope of their crime are barring reporters who have come to the location to find out about the situation, from entering Ashraf.

Sign the petition to demand intervention by the US forces to stop this inhmane attack on the unarmed members on Camp Ashraf! This is not only a human rights violation, but also a violation of the 5th Geneva Convention and has to be stop immediately!
