Petition to Commute the Death Sentence of Marvallous Keene

Petition to Commute the Death Sentence of Marvallous Keene

The Issue

We the undersigned, urge Governor Strickland to commute the sentence of Marvallous Keene.  Mr. Keene is scheduled to be executed on July 21, 2009.  In 1998, Mr. Keene was sentenced to death for multiple murders committed in late December 1992.  There are mitigating factors that exist in Mr. Keene's case that warrant consideration by Governor Strickland.  These factors are:  Mr. Keene's youth, clean record, mental disorders, his remorse and confession, and the repeated, traumatic loss of father figures from his life.

Governor Strickland should commute the death sentence of Marvallous Keene.
