This Petition is meant as sarcasm due to the cruelty of cutting Medicare/Medicaid which I believe makes the State AND Feds guilty of ELDERLY ABUSE which will force cuts in staff and care, and increased paper work --the result will be increased falling, compromised safety for patients and staff, and broken bones from falls, brain bleeding, and other elderly neglect due to budget-and inevitable staff-cuts. The government is making it impossible to care for the huge numbers of confused elderly properly.
Alzheimer's disease and dementia are epidemic and soon will take over half of the national expense. I feel budget cuts with Medicare and Medicaid makes the State and Federal government GUILTY of elderly neglect and abuse due to inability to care for them adequately or safely. Alzheimer's disease is dangerous and the multitudes of falls sustained from their restlessness at night, lack of coordination and poor reflexes leading to broken bones and brain bleeds from the falling-which IS going to increase due to budget cuts - therefore, reduction in staff--increased paper work, and more falls/injuries due and bed sores as a result of said reduced funding. I don't understand why they can't legalize Dr. Kevorkian euthanasia therapy if they are going to cut funding like that. If the family can't take care of their own - then these elderly should be euthanized rather than slowly die from neglect, falls, and bed sores.
To save the government trillions of dollars, legalize assisted suicide clinics-it's cheaper and more humane to die slowly from neglect and abuse. The elderly population is sharply rising.
*REALLY BAD PROBLEM*:
"The number of people affected by Alzheimer's is growing at a rapid rate, and the increasing personal costs will have significant impact on the world's economies and health care systems," said Harry Johns, President and CEO of the Alzheimer's Association." In the USA, every 70 seconds, someone develops Alzheimer's disease, and as many as 5.3 million people live with the memory-destroying illness, according to the Alzheimer's Association. Dementia triples health care costs for those over the age of 65."

We put down out pets when they suffer. We should have the same consideration for our elderly and chronically ill with end stage conditions. Since the government puts very little care or concern for the elderly as evidenced by Medicaid/Medicare budget cuts, please legalize euthansia therapy. Imagine how much money can be SAVED!
It's a LOT CHEAPER just to die.
Legalize euthanasia instead of overall cuts to Medicare/Medicaid
