The youth in the United States is largely kept out of the political dialogue because of apathy and because of vacuous political rhetoric. However, the recent presidential election in 2008 showed that the youth can be a powerful voting block if we so choose to be. We feel that the current fiscal and political climates in Washington are keeping the real issues off the table. Therefore, we demand a voice in the process and request that you address our following concerns: the budget, the deficit, the economy, the education system, energy, health care reform, the middle class, and an open and fair government.
