There is a man here in town, his name is Riley Cates.  Last Summer this man shot and killed my little (then six years of age) brother's white male cat, Snowball, who was across the street from where he was living when he was shot.  I called the police when this happened, they weren't concerned.  I thought firearms are not supposed to be fired so close the the school?  I thought it would be illegal to shoot someone's animal?  I don't know, if it's not, it should be.  Last night my mother's neighbors'  eight year old daughter's white lab (who is harmless and always walking around here) followed her to my house.  Riley now lives catty-corner to my home.  He shot the dog with something, I'm not certain what it was, but he shot him.  My mother heard it, but being legally blind she coudln't see it.  She did hear him yelp, cry, and take off down towards the highway.  My cousin, Cody, witnessed it, but I hadn't seen him so I couldn't ask him.  I am going to talk to him today when he gets back home and hopefully this man will be punished.  The dog is alright as far as we can tell (THANKFULLY), he does have a wound which the police officer seen.  The neighbors, us, their daughter, and the little children who play with their dog are all upset over this.  This man is psychotic or something.  Who kills peoples pets, animals who are of no harm to anyone?  He isn't going to get away with it, I promise.  This man needs to be behind bars if you ask me.  He is a danger to our community.  Who knows what other animals and such he has shot or killed and gotten away with?  His father is important in this town.  I wonder if that's why he gets away with crap?  I don't know.  This man has something wrong with him and deserves punishment for these disgusting things he does.  I find it terrible that I am afraid for my pets to go outside and for the kids to play outside.  This is our town, our home..it should be safe for all who lives in it.  This man makes that impossible.  Please keep an eye out for your animals and your children, one of them could be next.  I will be writing the mayor and others hoping something will be done, I will not stop writing until something is.  I ask of you to stand with me if needed.  Our home should never be turned into a dangerous place..
