Please urge your elected state politicians to oppose Senate Bill 707. This divisive legislation would write discrimination into our constitution by banning same-gender marriage.
Ask the Pennsylvania Senate Judiciary Committee to keep discrimination out of the constitution and vote NO! on SB 707.
RE: Oppose discrimination in our constitution. Oppose SB 707.
Dear Decision Maker,
I am writing to urge you to oppose Senate Bill 707. This divisive legislation would write discrimination into our constitution by banning same sex marriage.
With all of the difficult issues currently facing the commonwealth and the legislature, it's disturbing that some senators would dedicate time and resources to making a pronouncement about marriage. We expect our elected officials to spend their time working to make Pennsylvania a better place for all of us.
The lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community in Pennsylvania are our neighbors, our co-workers, and friends. They pay taxes, volunteer in their communities, and raise children. They don't deserve to be singled out for discrimination.
SB 707 is a waste of time. I hope you agree that there are more important issues currently before the legislature. Please vote "no" on SB 707.
Yours sincerely,
[Your name]
